Family Responsibility in Promoting Values in the Age of Artificial Intelligence

Abstract

The research aims to clarify the role of the family in promoting the value of responsibility in light of artificial intelligence technologies and their impact on the structure and values of the family. It also seeks to frame a purposeful framing to using artificial intelligence that balances technological advancement with the preservation of social values, while benefiting from the opportunities it offers and activating its purposes in terms of achieving interests and mitigating harms.                                       

       The originality of the research lies in emphasizing the importance of considering responsibilities in facing the challenges posed by artificial intelligence, guiding the use of digital technologies, and developing awareness programs to increase understanding of the necessity of creating a smart partnership with artificial intelligence to enhance family communication and cohesion, especially amid the spread of artificial intelligence and the reduction of the digital divide between generations. Researchers have often focused on either the positive aspects and opportunities presented by artificial intelligence or the negative aspects and threats resulting from its improper use, particularly at the societal level and more specifically at the family level. This research comes with a vision to strengthen the advantages of using artificial intelligence while minimizing potential risks and harms, highlighting the family's responsibility in this regard.                                                        

      The methodology followed in this study is an inductive critical approach followed by an analytical one.                      

           One of the key findings that can be concluded from the research is that the family is the primary educational institution and a building block of society, with its responsibility for promoting values stemming from principles that have goals, foundational rules, and legal purposes. This calls for investing in artificial intelligence in ways that achieve both material and moral development in both the small family unit and the larger community while preserving social values and ethics.
