أهمية المعلومات في دعم صناعة القرار في مؤسسات التعليم العالي بالسودان

Abstract

The study aimed to identify the concept of information, its importance, characteristics, sources and sections, and to know the extent to which information systems are used to raise work efficiency and performance in higher education institutions, and to know the most important factors that help in achieving decision-making support in higher education institutions in Sudan, and to know the most important challenges facing that, and this study was followed The descriptive method, using the questionnaire and interview as basic tools for the study.  The data was analyzed according to the Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) program, and the study sample consisted of group members of teaching. librarians, and  information specialists in higher education institutions in Sudan, represented by the University of Khartoum, Omdurman Islamic, El Nilen University and Elnasr   University, and their number was (155) individuals. The study reached several results, the availability of information in the appropriate quantity and quality and at the appropriate time is considered the backbone of decision-making and decision-making in higher education institutions. Also, information systems do not provide ready-made solutions, but rather they are considered a performance that helps in producing information the use of information systems contributes to raising work efficiency and performance, and   eveloping more effective methods of management and organization and in coordination and cooperation between various departments and units in higher education institutions in Sudan. There are several challenges facing decision-making support in higher education institutions, the most important of which are: Lack of information specialist; Lack of codification and updating of laws and regulations, weakness of funding and necessary aids, The study also recommended the importance of establishing databases in the Ministry of Higher Education and various universities and colleges, and linking them to the national information network, the necessity of national, regional and international cooperation in exchanging information, paying attention to training and qualification of human cadres, and setting appropriate conditions of service
